A leader in Protestant church music programming, Plymouth’s musical heritage dates back to its first church organ, carried to Seattle in a covered wagon. We still have that organ and you can see it in the Church lounge.
Choirs and Music Ensembles
Plymouth’s choirs and hand bell choir are a central aspect of the worship experience. Members of the adult and youth choirs, handbell choirs, and brass ensemble are regular contributors to Sunday worship. The Plymouth adult choir has also toured abroad and performed in historic halls in Europe.
Plymouth music programming each year includes several major works performed with choirs and orchestra such as the Bach Magnificat and the Brahms Requiem.
Art Ministry
Visual artists at Plymouth are active in a variety of media that are encorporated into worship and community gatherings. Plymouth’s sanctuary is frequently decorated with artwork made by or commissioned by members. Arts experiences and music are also woven into Sunday morning programs for children.
Concerts
Plymouth’s musical history includes weekday noontime programs including organ recitals and jazz services. We also present after-work concert series on Wednesdays during Lent and Advent.
Arts Events
Plymouth has produced a multigenerational arts festival which was a celebration of music, visual art and story, including concerts, poetry readings and more.
