We are a dynamic congregation that embraces both traditional and non-traditional "membership." If Plymouth Church is the place where you experience God and deepen your spiritual life, we hope you'll stay and participate fully in both the benefits and the responsibilities of congregational life.

Informal Membership

If you would like to experience Plymouth outside formal membership, we encourage you to get involved with one of our many ministry groups.  We offer many different ways to explore your own gifts and interests.

Formal Membership

We welcome new members into the congregation four times a year. There are no qualifications to join, but we do ask you to attend classes that explore what joining this congregation and the United Church of Christ means.  New Member Sundays are festive occasions where we recognize the commitment you make to our congregation. We have a wonderful tradition of inviting new members to sign the very church roster that members have signed for more than 100 years.

Several times a year, we offer Inquirer’s (New Member) classes for people interested in learning more about Plymouth.  These classes provide an opportunity to talk about Plymouth, an open and welcoming congregation to all people, and the arts, education and service opportunities available here. 

Sponsorship Program

In the fall of 2011, we began a program that matches a congregational sponsor with new members. Sponsors help new members connect with people, programs and activities at Plymouth during their first six months, as they get integrated into the Plymouth community.
