Plymouth Church's Labyrinth Ministry creates a sacred space for reflection, prayer and renewal. The labyrinth is a powerful spiritual tool for personal transformation used for over 5000 years by cultures and religious traditions around the world.
The winding path symbolizes a journey, a pilgrimage, allowing us time and place for inner reflection. Walking with a quiet receptive mind restores and energizes, inviting a sense of calm, stirring creativity, offering peace. In the silence of sacred space, away from the chaos, the labyrinth is a place to find ourselves. We sense our connection to the deeper Mystery unfolding around us. The experience is different each time
Labyrinths are open to all as non-denominational, cross-cultural tools of well-being.
First Thursday monthly in 2012.
Hildebrand Hall 10 am until 2 p.m.
Labyrinth Docents
Labyrinth Docents help with set up, maintenance and take down of the sacred space we create in Hildebrand Hall. This includes putting out table cloths, candles, books and educational materials, playing musical CD's, and at the end of the day putting away the labyrinth.
Docents share in greeting those who come to walk, answer questions, and help those new to the labyrinth to get oriented.
The shift begins at 9 a.m. and generally ends at 3 p.m. the first Thursday of each month in 2012. Volunteers generally choose to volunteer 3-4 days a year. We welcome all who are interested and will try to accommodate their availability and interest.
