Programs for Children, Youth and Family

The guiding vision for children, youth, and family programming at Plymouth is simple, to create an environment in which seeds of faith can take root and grow.  Staff, Children and Youth Board members, and volunteers craft opportunities wherein children and their families might encounter the dynamic and transformative presence of God.  In art and music projects, discussion circles, service opportunities, mentorships and in every context we embrace the truth that all are beloved and together we listen for the still speaking God.  The staff, volunteers, and members strive to be faithful companions with the children and youth of Plymouth as they discover their journey of faith.  Through a variety of avenues we communicate to the children and youth that they are a valued and vital part of the Plymouth community.

Seasons of the Spirit

Plymouth teaches from the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum in the church school through grade 6.  Seasons of the Spirit is a curriculum grounded in the Bible that connects stories from the Hebrew scriptures and the gospels to contemporary issues such as interpersonal relationships, climate change, justice issues, and more.  Seasons of the Spirit moves along the major seasons in the church year that correspond to various events in the life of Christ.  By following this cycle we learn more about what it means to live the way of Christ.  The curriculum used each Sunday in the classroom connects to the themes and scriptures lifted up in worship as well as other church wide programming.  This creates a richer and more comprehensive learning environment that also enables families to discuss and reflect together on the themes of the day.

Safe Church

Plymouth Church is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment in which young people can learn about and experience God's love.  In order to ensure this, we require that all volunteer leaders in the Sunday school program submit a completed disclosure form and are cleared by Washington State Patrol “WatchPass” program.
