No Confirmation Class on December 25th or January 1st. Confirmation begins again on January 8th.
In 2012 we'll continue our Worls Religions curriculum including:

- Taoism
- Judaism
- Islam
- Mystics from Various Religious Traditions
- Secular Humanism
We'll also be preparing forbe addressing:
- What does it mean to be a member of a church?
- What does it mean to be confirmed?
- Why do we do confirmation?
- Why is membership difference for adults than for youth?

The Fall Confirmation Retreat weekend included:

- Socratic Seminar on Rev. Lilian Daniel's piece, Spiritual But Not Religious? Please Stop Boring Me
- Horseback riding
- Capture the flag
- Creating a confirmation prayer flag (in the style of Buddhist prayer flags)
- Creating "stepping stones" to discuss the lens we bring as we study faith traditions (i.e. what experiences and people have shaped our life)
- Ultimate Frisbee
- Movies
- Choosing which big faith questions each confirmand will use in learning about various faith traditions (we brainstormed a list of questions that most religions address)
As we study various faith traditions we seek to understand by asking some of the following foundational questions:
- Who/What is God?
- How do we now what is "good" / "true"?
- How does God view people/creation?
- Who am I?
- What happens after death?
- Is there life outside of Earth?
- Why do we die?
- How do we connect to God/Spirit/the Divine?
- How was the world created?
- Where does evil come from?
- What is the "right" or "best" faith?
- Is God's spirit inside of us?
- Does it matter what we do?
- Is life subject to fate or karma?
- What's the purpose of it all?
- Is there a God?
- What are the foundation stories of any religion?
- How do we make meaning out of the terrible things that happen?
