Plymouth Congregational Church, Seattle WA, United Church Of Christ

Plymouth offers many small groups, which fall into three categories:

Fellowship Groups
Fellowship groups are mainly for people interested in making new friends and experiencing the fellowship of others. For more information, contact David Shinn.

Covenant Groups
Covenant Groups are groups of 10-12 persons that exist for two years at a time, usually with monthly meetings. Registration occurs each fall. Groups focus on the spiritual life. We explore God's presence in our lives, pray together and sometimes read and discuss a relevant book. Please contact them through David Shinn.

Ministry Teams
Ministry Teams focus on service in the church and community. Ministry Teams are formed at the initiative of members and cover a great variety of interests, including Plymouth Healing Communities, Emergency Feeding Ministry, Labyrinth, Bible Study, Legislative Advocacy, Tutoring, Family Support and more. For information about ministry teams, contact Jennifer Castle.

Here's a sampling of some of the opportunities:
Camps and Retreats
During the year Plymouth holds a wide variety of camps and retreats including: Camp Koinonia (a winter snow camp), a Men's Retreat, a Women's Retreat, an all-church weekend retreat, a week-long summer camp in July at Camp N-Sid-Sen, and an All-Church Picnic, usually the second Sunday in June. Please join in - it's a great way to get to know folks. Watch the Plymouth Herald for dates. For more information, please contact: David Shinn
Moveable Feast
Moveable Feast invites folks of all ages for a monthly gathering in people's homes for a potluck and conversation, with no intentional program other than food and fellowship, September through June. For more information, please contact: David Shinn
Plymouth Rocks
Join Plymouth's soccer team. Spring season starts in mid-March. For more information, please contact: Bob Almquist
Prime Timers
Prime Timers are mostly retired (but young in spirit!), married and single, and meet in the Plymouth Lounge for punch, a potluck dinner, and special program on the second Friday evening of the month, September through June. For more information, please contact: David Shinn
Healing Prayer Ministry
Each month a group gathers together for a time to learn about and practice healing prayer. We commit to a spiritual practice of praying for those in need of any kind of healing, deliberately placing ourselves and all creation in the healing presence of God. All are welcome. For more information, please contact: Kris Anderson Ostrem
Labyrinth
Offers the Labyrinth to the Plymouth family and the wider community for meditation, healing, and a deepening of one's spiritual journey. For more information, please contact: Betty Behmke
Plymouth Healing Communities
Plymouth Healing Communities, in partnership with Harborview Hospital, provides caring companionship and a stable home for formerly homeless residents living with mental illness. Its three residences (and a fourth, Catherine Hoffman House II, to open in 2005) provide a range of housing alternatives, from transitional housing to shared permanent housing. We invite you to join us in this Plymouth outreach. For more information, please contact: Nancy Smith
Plymouth Piecemakers
Join those who gather once a month to quilt together, making care quilts and newborn quilts. No experience needed! All are welcome. For more information, please contact: Contact Diane Roubal
