Plymouth Hosts 2017 Summer Concerts

July 10, 2017

One of the many ways Plymouth offers outreach and ongoing visibility in our growing downtown neighborhood is to cosponsor free, outdoor noon concerts with Downtown Seattle Association (DSA). Concert sponsorship provides us the opportunity to be onsite for three out-to-lunch concerts, where Plymouth staff and volunteers host an information table, meet with people from all walks of life and share information about Plymouth Church and the UCC. In addition, Plymouth’s logo appears on DSA publications, banners, social media and website throughout the summer.

This summer Plymouth sets up at Westlake Center Friday, July 21, with Radio Raheem, an upbeat, eclectic band known for their outspoken stand against gun violence. Wednesday, August 2, at Two Union, join us for the 9-piece band Soul Revue. Wednesday, August 23, hear the folk, Americana, blues music of Andrew Landers, former pastor and now full-time musician (with songs such as “Not in my Backyard”) at Freeway Park.

Also, we will again collaborate with Ventures (Plymouth’s community investment loan partnership) to bring their food truck entrepreneurs to Sixth and University for the August concert at Freeway Park. Celebrate summer!

Volunteers needed for July 21 outreach concert! Plymouth participates in Downtown Seattle Association’s Out to Lunch concert series with a Plymouth UCC information table. The first Plymouth-sponsored concert happens this Friday, July 21, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, at Westlake Center with Radio Raheem, a Seattle funk and soul band known for their outspoken stance against gun violence.

No experience necessary, just the willingness to talk with people about Plymouth who ask, and enjoy the music! Please contact Janice: JRandall@PlymouthChurchSeattle.org or call the church office.
