Pray for Peace in Korea

November 19, 2017

As tensions rise on the Korean Peninsula, our global ministries partners with the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK) ask for continued prayers for peace and solidarity as they live through this emotional time of intense concern. Since 1993, The Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Church of Christ and the Northwest Region of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ partnered with churches of the Seoul East Presbytery of the PROK. We have worshipped together, prayed together and been in fellowship together. PROK and the National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) feel the most effective method toward achieving lasting peace on the Peninsula is to replace the Korean Armistice (that ended active hostilities more than 70 years ago) with a lasting Peace Treaty. To that end, PROK and NCCK seek support for their international campaign for a Korea Peace Treaty. They encourage people across the world to sign their online petition at KoreaPeaceTreaty.com
