Lent is the Church season that leads to Easter. Considered a time of soul-searching and preparation, Lent is also a time of expressing gratitude. Experience Lent at Plymouth in several ways; Ash Wednesday, March 5, Pastors Brigitta and Brandon will administer “Ashes to Go” on Seattle's streets from 11am to1 pm. A contemplative worship service, Prayer around the Cross, will take place at 7 pm, in the Sanctuary.
Small groups will meet during Lent for five weekly sessions to read A Practical Christianity: Meditations on the Season of Lent together. Participating in small groups provide a good opportunity for fellowship while deepening our faith. Groups will be held in Ballard, NE Seattle/Bryant, Bellevue, South Seattle and Horizon House. There’s still time to sign up! Please contact the church office or me at: JCastle@PlymouthChurchSeattle.org to register and get more information. Books are available for $10 through the church office.
Last Sunday, at the Adult Forum, we distributed tips on Lenten spiritual practices you may find helpful. Click here to view or pick up a copy at the church office. Also, read more about Lenten themes on Simply Faith blog.
Lent is a time to slow down, reflect on our relationship with God, our relationships with each other and to take practical steps that draw us closer to the divine. I look forward to walking this journey with all of you this Lenten season.
