Undoing Racism and Community Organizing

What does it look like to do justice work, worship and community building through an anti-racist lens? From Trayvon Martin to Ferguson, Missouri, it is abundantly clear that racism is alive and well in American society. Engage in our call as people of faith to dismantle systems of oppression as we explore ways racism has been embedded in institutions and how it can be dismantled through individual and community transformation. Jenn Hagedorn, Plymouth Social Justice Liaison, will coordinate sessions by bringing in trainers and organizers from the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond, as well as Youth Undoing Institutional Racism. Classes will take place four consecutive Wednesdays 7-8:30 pm, beginning October 22 and ending November 12. Dinner will be served at 6. The fee is $40, which covers meal costs. Scholarships are available upon request. Register starting Sunday after each service and online.
