Plymouth’s annual summer camp at N Sid Sen takes place July 19 – 25. This year’s theme is “Walking to Emmaus: Refresh, Renew, Restart.” Register this Sunday or download the registration form here.
Are you new to Plymouth? Have you been a member for years and seek a new experience to deepen your connections with other members while exploring spiritual themes in a safe space? If so, come and free your mind, day and spirit and leave your electronics at home (they won’t work anyway). Your heart will open as you gather with Plymouth members of all ages for six days at N Sid Sen on the shores of beautiful Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Camp combines structured activities with lots of open time to play at the lake, walk in nature and connect impromptu with others and through guided ministry. Your cell phone won’t buzz, but your heart will! Make new friends, gain insights and leave fuller for the journey ahead.
Please join us for this intergenerational exploration about the story of how the disciples encountered the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24: 13 – 35). Using Henri Nouwen’s book With Burning Hearts as a guide, together we will explore universal themes including grief and reconciliation, encountering and inviting in the stranger, sharing gifts of communion and mission and purpose via worship and music. Once you experience N Sid Sen and the camp community you will return! Interested in helping out? Help us get to Camp!
Each year, we have about a dozen people that need a ride to Plymouth's Summer Camp. Commercial rental rates are too expensive, so the planning team is seeking creative ways to meet this need. Can you help? For those not going to camp, do you have a van or mini-van you would be willing to let us borrow for the week? If you are going to camp and have two cars, would you be willing to let us use the second one? In both cases, we would pay gas and mileage. Are you connected with an organization that has a van or small bus we might be able to use that week? If you have any offers or ideas along these lines, please contact Tad Anderson (206.445.5052; firstname.lastname@example.org). Camp dates are July 19-25 and round trip is about 700 miles. Thanks!
