Participate in Wildlife Habitat Restoration Project, Saturday, Sept. 26

November 30, 2014

Join a National Public Lands Day work party in Eastern WA to remove decadent and burnt barbed wire fences from the recent wildfires. Removal will increase wildlife species winter survival by helping conserve energy and reducing or eliminating fence related injury and/or mortality. This is an opportunity to help the recent fire area and watch changes in post fire landscape over time. Job requirements are a pair of gloves and lunch!

Work project is 8:30 am to 4 pm in Entiat, a three hour drive from Seattle. Carpools leave at 5 am Saturday or drive Friday night to a Wenatchee hotel; anticipate a 9 pm Seattle return. Project website is: PublicLandsDay.org/npld-sites/gateway-restoration

If this sounds like fun, please contact: Connie Sandstrom, CJSarchitect@comcast.net or 206.375.5449 by Wednesday, Sept. 23. Connie will coordinate volunteers with the USDA Forest Service.
