“I find that the most valuable part of the Men’s retreat for me starts with showing up. For me, it starts with the silent day prior to the retreat, which allows me to practice centering prayer with other men from Plymouth. Observing silence with others is a powerful expression of community. The retreat also allows me to get to know new men and deepen existing friendships. It really doesn’t matter what the theme is, or who the guest speakers are (although these are meaningful). Spending a weekend in intentional faith and fellowship bears much sharing and caring. And the music and singing throughout also help increase our awareness of the Spirit at work among us. One of my favorite times is the sharing of symbols. I am always impressed at the breadth and significance of stories behind the symbols.” –Don Castle
The optional silent retreat takes place Thursday evening, February 25, at Pilgrim Firs and ends as Men’s Retreat begins. The silent retreat celebrates prayer and contemplation.
The Plymouth Men’s Retreat program “What we left behind we must find,” will be led by Conference Minister Mike Denton.
U.S. culture has dismantled the role of Elders. Elders, in a more traditional sense, are those who are named by communities to share the collective wisdom and stories of that community and help place current life of the community into historical and spiritual context. The Church provides a unique opportunity, as an Elder institution, to help build a new culture of Eldership. Explore how Plymouth might be able to do some of this good work.

Weekend + Silent Retreat: $183 (age 62+ $168)
