Council Corner

February 9, 2016

Thank you to all who attended the Annual Meeting February 3. We heard from CSSA about Village of Hope, final reports on the successful Capital Campaign and Sanctuary Renovation. The Implementation Team gave an overview of our “Action Plan” and we moved to a new way to view the budget, known as a “Priority Budget.” Budget Chair Dan Landes presented an excellent overview of our budget structure to show how Plymouth funds are spent based on our priorities. Senior Minister Brigitta Remole delivered a moving message to encourage us all to move forward with our strategic plan. Unanimous approval of the 2016 budget gives Council the indication we are on the right path! Thank you for your trust!

Now what do we do? Well, quite a bit folks! The Implementation Team is revising the “Action Plan” and will distribute version 2.0 soon to all members. Council is preparing to present the Leadership Retreat 9 am to 1 pm, Saturday February 20, at Mercer Island Congregational Church. All board, committee and task force members are invited to participate. The Implementation Team is involved in the planning. This will be an excellent opportunity for all to participate in the planning and execution of all the planning we have done this last year. No matter where you are at Plymouth, you are welcome to attend. Please notify the church office to sign-up.

We need you! The Implementation Team introduced a sign-up sheet which provides opportunities to get involved. We need help in rebuilding our foundation. Do you want to work on Membership Sustainability? Vital worship? Faith Formation? Financial planning for the church? The church office has sign-up sheets; please get one today, fill it out and leave it with the office. We will follow up and contact you!

Please let me know if you have questions or concerns. –Jon Palmason, Moderator  jonpalmason@comcast.net
