Forum April 3: Undoing Institutional Racism

March 29, 2016

This Sunday at 10 am, come hear from and ask questions of Plymouth people who have experienced Undoing Institutional Racism training including Jenn Hagedorn, David Guthrie and Sue Jones. They share why they took the training, how it impacts their lives and what it has to do with their faith. Please join us for an inspiring and powerful hour!

The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond is a collective of anti-racist community organizers and educators committed to building an anti-racist movement. Founded in 1980, by Ronald Chisom and Jim Dunn, the organization's national office is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The People’s Institute Northwest supports and coordinates Undoing Institutional Racism (UIR) workshops and provides technical assistance and organizing support to community based organizations, educators, social service agencies, government, faith based organizations, prisoner organizations, coalitions for social change and youth groups. The impact of the work is evidenced in a sustained movement to address racial inequities in this region. Plymouth is honored to partner with the People’s Institute by providing space for their two-day training program multiple times a year.

Where are you going at 10 am?

Starting Sunday, April 3 through the rest of the program year, Forum takes place in Hildebrand Hall. Soul Choir moves rehearsals from the Chapel to the Lounge for easier accessibility. The Rock (parents group) moves to the Chapel. Experience Faith at the 10 o’clock hour!
