Update from Laura Robinson

June 6, 2017

Dear Plymouth Family,

Greetings! It has been such a joy to reconnect with you over the last couple of years and to have an opportunity to worship with you – even the limited opportunity. I’m so grateful to the Plymouth community and the ways you all have supported me throughout my childhood, my youth, and these most recent years as I head into my own ministry call.

I wanted to update you on my current happenings. In May, I graduated from Candler School of Theology in Atlanta with my Masters of Divinity degree. As of June 12, I will be starting my first call as an Associate Minister with the Transition into Ministry Program at Plymouth Church UCC in Des Moines, Iowa. It feels only appropriate that I’m headed to another Plymouth!

I am entering a 27 month call at Plymouth, during which I will be ordained as a minister in the United Church of Christ. As my home church, the Plymouth board and the congregation, have been wonderful support throughout this ordination process. In celebration of our relationship and your support, Reverends Kelle Brown and Steve Davis have agreed to host my ordination service in the spring of 2018. I cannot wait to celebrate this next step with the Plymouth Seattle community.

To that end, I have one more request: I am seeking 2-3 people willing to walk with me during this final year of the Member in Discernment process. This small group would commit to semi-regular phone/skype check-ins over the next year, along with feedback on my ordination paper and in-person conversations during my visits to Seattle. If you’re interested, please contact me via phone or email. 206.465.1379, laura.kr.robinson@gmail.com.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you are and all you do, Plymouth. This congregation is a much-loved home of mine, and the relationships I’ve found here have defined the person I am and the ministry I am embarking on. Please don’t hesitate to be in touch!

Yours in Grace and Peace,

Laura Robinson
