Months ago, at Plymouth’s 10 am Sunday morning Faith & Life, a visitor from Lutheran Community Services told about their work with Refugee and Immigrant children and youth. One of us asked, “How can we help?”The response: “Bring supper to Refugee and Immigrant youth and their foster parents each month as they are gathered for training and mutual support.”
Some 12-15 Plymouth folks agreed and are providing suppers. What a joy it to help support these young people as they work to learn to be Americans in our communities – so different from their former homes. Their work is daunting, (learning language, skills & culture) and our contribution is small but helpful. We have all been fed.
