Kevin grew up attending Plymouth and claims Plymouth as his church home since his 2001 confirmation. He recalls first hearing the call to ministry as a teenager. “I was sitting in the Sanctuary listening and watching Rev. Tony Robinson. It was intriguing to me, the idea of talking to people about faith and God.” He went on to earn his BA in Religious Studies from University of Oregon and a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology and Ministry at Seattle University. Bechtold was recently ordained at Plymouth Church UCC.
Kevin’s recent participation in Plymouth UCC includes volunteering as a Congregational Council member, participating in a ministerial search team committee (‘a faith-deepening experience,’ he adds) and serving on pastoral relations committees for Plymouth’s former pastor Rev. Remole and current Lead Pastor Rev. Dr. Kelle Brown. In 2017, Kevin helped lead Plymouth’s high school youth program.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to give back to my church community in new ways,” he says. Kevin, his wife Alicia and their 17-month-old son Luke, live in Lynnwood, Washington.
