Lunar New Year celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunar calendar. Commonly referred to as the Spring Festival, cultures across Asia celebrate Lunar New Year with their own varied customs and traditions.
The first day of the festival begins on the first new moon of the lunar calendar, which varies year to year, depending on the cycles of the moon. This year, Lunar New Year lands on Saturday, February 10. Join Wing Luke Museum in the International District February 3 as we ring in the Year of the Dragon with a day full of festive art activities for the family, community booths, story time, and more! We will be joined by Mak Fai Kung Fu Dragon and Lion Dance Association for our special Lion Dance celebration beginning at 10 am. This event is free and open to the public! More details here.
