We're thrilled to report that all of Plymouth Housing's priorities have been passed by the Washington state legislature and signed by Governor Inslee. Lawmakers have allocated more than $400 million to ensure that affordable housing is accessible to those who need it today and in the years to come.

At the center of everything we do is our commitment to our staff and residents. Progress in Olympia must always center the people behind our work. While funding for construction and renovation of affordable housing is important, our work at Plymouth Housing shows that it must be combined with long-term, robust funding for housing workers and supportive services to keep people housed.

This budget meets some of the need: it includes $55 million in financial support to essential frontline staff, who help our residents leave homelessness behind them. It also funds innovative partnerships like FareStart's hunger relief program, which prepares and delivers nutritious meals to Plymouth Housing residents as well as residents of other housing organizations in the Puget Sound region. 

The progress made during this session was achieved by working in coalition with other housing providers and advocates like you. Plymouth Housing is grateful and proud to be a part of a strong ecosystem of private, government, and nonprofit partnerships across the state.
