With another rise in COVID cases and exposures, we thought we’d provide some updated information and resources. Please note that the best way to protect yourself and others is to get vaccinated and boosted. The FDA has approved the Pfizer booster for kids 5-11, and is awaiting CDC approval.
If you test positive for COVID-19 and are an older adult or someone who is at high risk of getting very sick, treatment may be available. Contact a healthcare provider right away after a positive test, even if your symptoms are mild. Don’t delay: treatment must be started within the first few days to be effective.
You should quarantine and stay away from others when you have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. If you test positive you should isolate, even if you don’t have symptoms.
People who have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 or have tested positive can use a quick and easy online CDC calculator to determine if they need to isolate, quarantine, or take other steps to prevent spreading COVID-19. Click here to use the quarantine and isolation calculator.
We have included information below detailing steps to take if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have a known exposure. You can also visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website for the latest guidelines and information.
