Hello Dear Plymouth Folk,

I’m writing to share the good news that the events page on our church website has gotten a bunch of attention lately. The calendar is now up to date with the various meetings, bible study opportunities, music gatherings, and events that are coming up in the next couple of months. You can check it out here or go to our homepage and look for the Events tab. [Pro tip: if you click on an event you can see more details and then if you refresh the page in your browser, you will be able to go back to the calendar so you can click something else.

The effort to get us an up-to-date events page was the result of many, many people coming together to make it happen. First, several of our Board and Committee chairs voiced that it was tough to schedule church-wide things around the busy worship and events schedule planned by clergy and staff. Second, clergy and council leadership listened and in a great “aha!” moment realized that if all these lay leaders and our clergy team met quarterly “to calendar”, we could coordinate better and get things pinned down in time. Third, we did just that in September and committed to “calendaring” quarterly for the foreseeable future. Fourth, Rev. Kevin took on the daunting task of updating the calendar to reflect the various standing gatherings and the upcoming special events for the quarter. This was a very big lift given that there were a lot of things to add so a huge thanks to Rev. Kevin for taking this on!

I hope you will check out the calendar regularly. It’s now a great way to stay on top of the wonderful things that are going on at Plymouth.
