Quaker Experiential Service & Training (QuEST) is a program funded by the Seattle Quaker Meetings but open to any young adult interested in spending a year of service in Seattle. Fellows work for progressive nonprofits in Seattle and live in an intentional community in a large house in a diverse, vibrant neighborhood. They receive spiritual and professional support and have opportunities for retreats and workshops around the Pacific Northwest. Fellows are provided with free rent, a food and living stipend, and at the end of their tenure, $1000.
QuEST provides young adults of all backgrounds with:
- meaningful work and professional experience through full-time positions with local nonprofits
- an intentional, residential community in a shared house with other participants
- opportunities for training, mentorship, and reflection
During their year of service, QuEST Fellows gain experience for careers in social service and justice fields, practice community and simplicity, work for social change, explore spirituality, and build life-long friendships.
