It was a beautiful day to gather in the Horizon House Sky Lounge for tea, and to greet old friends and meet new ones. The view of Mt. Rainier in all her glory was breathtaking! The gathering was to say Thank You to our many Horizon House advocates, donors, friends, and supporters. We were truly blessed to have approximately 40 guests attend.
Plymouth Healing Communities Executive Director, Padrica Hoffman, provided updates about what is going on at PHC properties. Volunteer Coordinator Dakota Nixon gave a update on the volunteer opportunities and the re-invigoration of PHC’s Companionship program. Marcia Almquist fielded a lively Question and Answer session, displaying the guests’ interest and engagement. The highlight of the program was a moving and courageous testimony by one of PHC’s residents.
To close, Jane Dunkel, Board President, offered words of appreciation and a call for continued support. Each guest left with a beautiful (and useful) canvas shopping bag with PHC’s logo on it, designed by PHC’s own Drew Dasse.
All in all, a wonderful afternoon, and one most appreciated with a grateful heart by PHC’s board of directors. Many thanks to Padrica, Marcia, Dakota and Drew for planning and hosting this event, and special thanks to all our wonderful guests and supporters. -Nancy Parker
