We're in Good Hands

We're in Good Hands

Hello Plymouth, and Happy Almost Spring.

I’m writing again to let you know that our wonderful Developer Selection Committee (DSC) met for the first time earlier this week and thus, they are officially launched!

It was abundantly clear to me from the great questions asked, astute observations offered, and the emphasis on bringing holiness to the work that Plymouth will be in great hands with this group of seven faithful ones. My strong sense is that together they will be helping us live even more fully into what Rev. Kelle was encouraging us all to do this past Sunday, which is “fleshing” our prayers.

And as an aside, if you didn’t catch Rev. Kelle’s sermon on Sunday, I highly recommend that you check it out – she gave us what is essentially a step-by-step guide for how to be Jesus in the world.

Back to the DSC...The committee members are taking a bit of time to get to know one another and to sort out how they want to work together before connecting with our development advisors, Meriwether Partners, LLC. Updates on their process and progress will be shared regularly with the congregation. Additionally, we will hold a commissioning ceremony for them on Easter Sunday, April 9, so please join us that day to celebrate the DSC members, the work they are embarking on together, and this milestone of Plymouth’s.

In other news, the Church Council year is also off to a great start. We are 10 Council members strong and I am excited about the energy and love that everyone is bringing to the table. Your Vice Moderator, Matt Durland, and I will be meeting individually with each of the Council members over the next week to hear what is on their hearts and what their hopes for Council and Plymouth are for the coming year. Again, we’ll keep you posted on Council news and developments in the coming weeks and months, so please stay tuned.

Thank you all for reading and for being Church together – after all, when we do the funny little hand thing where we make the “church” and the “steeple,” the most important parts are all the “people” inside.

Peace and Love to you all,

Tracy Simpson, Plymouth Moderator
