We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of Plymouth Housing's newest building: Toft Terrace! In Old Norse, toft means "homestead" or "site of a house." Toft Terrace pays homage to the rich Scandinavian heritage of the Ballard neighborhood, where we join neighbors like Ballard Food Bank and Ethan Stowell Restaurants.
Toft Terrace is the fourth of six buildings to open as part of our PROOF Capital Campaign, following Bertha Pitts Campbell Place, Kristin Benson Place, and Bob and Marcia Almquist Place. Located in Ballard, Toft is the first Plymouth Housing building located in northwestern Seattle.
Toft Terrace is part of a new, innovative pilot program led by the City of Seattle Office of Housing. The program aims to expedite the construction and delivery of permanent supportive housing and reduce associated costs.
Toft Terrace will provide new homes for 81 people who have experienced homelessness in the Ballard neighborhood. These new residents will now have access to a fully furnished apartment, community room, communal computer room, and personalized case management.
