Greenwood Senior Center presents the film The Caregivers’ Club 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, June 2. Meet three ‘members’ and get a candid, intimate glimpse into their daily lives, as they navigate their journey as caregivers with humor and frustration.
These caregivers are also often called “the forgotten ones,“ because despite media coverage of dementia, they are largely ignored or taken for granted, whether they care for a loved one at
home, or accompany them through institutional life. Introduction and facilitated discussion follows by Marty Richards, MSW. Consider ways that community, support groups and other resources can provide scaffolding for those who are experiencing this role.
Chaplain Trudy James will be present to explain the care team approach. Join us for this important, poignant film, and hear how to support caregivers in our own personal circles and in our community.
Greenwood Senior Center is located at 525 N. 85th St., Seattle, 98103. For questions or to RSVP, please call 206.297.0875.Subscribe
