April 21, 2020
We've Celebrated Christ's Resurrection; Now Let's Celebrate God's First Gift to Humanity - the creation of Mother Earth.
Since April 22, 2020, is the 50th year after the first Earth Day, a "cluster-seed" group of about 6 of us at Plymouth are inviting each of you to celebrate via online events. When you search for "Earth Day Live events," you will see lots of online events from April 22 through 24. Choose whatever interests you to view.
We want to encourage you all to watch a video produced for Interfaith Power and Light which is a partner with our local Earth Ministry. It is an up-to-date look at what has happened in our own country as a result of global warming. Yes, it is vivid and emotional; but it is educational and inspiring too. What can we learn from it that could inform our future decisions and actions at Plymouth? IFPL wants each person to sign on so they will know how many have watched. And we will schedule a time on Thursday, April 30, for an online Zoom gathering to discuss what we have seen in the video. Details will be sent by next Tuesday for that.
The movie/documentary is called The Human Elelment. After water, air, and fire, humans have become the 4th element that shapes life on Earth. Use this link to SIGN UP and view the movie. (The movie producers want people to sign up individually so they can report viewer numbers to the filmmaker.) After you sign up, look for an email from Sarah Paulos <firstname.lastname@example.org> with the link and the password. Film is only available to view through Sunday, April 26. If you have trouble, email Tad Anderson (email@example.com).
After viewing it, please email Tad Anderson (firstname.lastname@example.org or me (email@example.com) to let us know you want to join the discussion next Thursday evening. Good viewing everybody! -Glenda Carper for the group: Adele Reynolds, Tad Anderson, Bruce Shilling, Anita Gras Bryant, Tom Kress, Dave Koeger
Plymouth Church UCC Worship is experienced on a Zoom Webinar platform, on our Plymouth YouTube Channel and Facebook pages each Sunday. Please join us for Worship, then for Coffee Hour ONLINE following on the separate Zoom meeting link.
We look to God for the breaking of oppression and healing in the land. Let us stand together with one voice as we watch, fight, and pray with life prioritized.
