It is hard to believe it has been almost a year since I became your Moderator. Now that year is nearly at an end. Plymouth, what a journey we are on!
I hope you marked your calendars for this Sunday’s Annual Meeting, held immediately after service, in Hildebrand Hall. Hoping to begin a new tradition of communal gathering, this year we are trying something different with a church-wide potluck (bring a side dish or dessert). This gives us an opportunity to share, contribute and come together as we discuss updates on all that is happening at Plymouth, vote in new Council and Committee members and talk about our future together. I am excited about our future.
Being your Moderator last year was an honor. While life continues to happen and personal things have made it challenging, my church home has provided a place of strength, challenge (in a good way!) and hope. You all offered great support, and I thank you.
I also want to thank Jennifer Castle for introducing the Council and me to the book Canoeing the Mountains by Tod Bolsinger. You heard me frequently reference this book, and are probably tired of it by now! There is so much relevance to the journey of Lewis and Clark pointed out in this book to the changes we are experiencing here at Plymouth. We are entering a journey of uncharted territory, a journey we are defining as we go. As a congregation, we are making this transition and traveling this path together.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting. Plymouth, thanks be to God. -Lori Kaid, Outgoing ModeratorSubscribe
