March 13, 2018
The Community Service & Social Action Board (CSSA) has designated two recipients to share the 2018 Lenten Special Offering Sunday, March 18:
One Great Hour of Sharing
One Great Hour of Sharing, as part of Our Churches Wider Mission, is the special mission offering of the United Church of Christ that carries God’s message of love and hope to people in crisis. The UCC works with international partners to provide sources of clean water, food, education and health care, small business micro-credit, advocacy and resettlement for refugees and displaced persons, and emergency relief and rehabilitation. OGHS also supports domestic and international ministries for disaster preparedness and response.
Plymouth UCC Immigration Ministry Team is in place, and is coordinating with Gethsemane Lutheran Church, to provide material support for their declared sanctuary church status. This work is in response to a call to become immigrant and refugee welcoming as a conference and in congregations. Plymouth UCC and PNC Justice and Witness Ministries Committee member, Brianna Brannan, led the effort for an immigrant welcoming sanctuary church resolution at the Pacific Northwest Conference UCC Annual Meeting April 2017. The JWM resolution is based on the belief that every immigrant and refugee has inherent dignity and human rights. Every immigrant and refugee should be able live in safety, live without fear, and have access to basic necessities and opportunities.Subscribe
Plymouth Church UCC Worship is an online webinar through Zoom, and shared on our Plymouth YouTube Channel and Facebook pages each Sunday. Please join us for Worship, then for Virtual Coffee Hour following on Zoom.
We look to God for the breaking of oppression and healing in the land. Let us stand together with one voice as we watch, fight, and pray with life prioritized.
