Plymouth Church Calls the Rev. Brandon Duran as Associate Pastor

August 26, 2012

Plymouth Congregational Church, Seattle, has called the Rev. Brandon Duran as its Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults.  He has served Plymouth for the prior two years as Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.  In his new role, he will develop new forms of outreach and ministry with young adults, oversee existing Plymouth faith formation programs for high school youth, and assist in leading Sunday worship.

This decision is a significant step in alignment with congregational priorities identified in May 2012, which included an emphasis on programs for youth and young adults.

Prior to his work at Plymouth, Duran was Outreach Pastor at Keystone Church and Minister of the English Ministry at the Taiwanese Christian Church, both of Seattle.  He also taught junior and senior high school at the International Academy of Caracas, Venezuela and at the Beijing Huijia Private School

Duran earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University, and a Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary.  He was ordained in the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Church of Christ in 2009.
