Bing Tso is pleased to have the opportunity to serve on Plymouth’s Congregational Council over the past four years, including this year as Vice Moderator. He is constantly amazed as he learns about the church’s rich history, fascinating and diverse members and the complex blend of tradition, passion and faith that keeps it going.
Born and raised in Northern California, Bing moved to Seattle in 1994 (at the behest of the Gwilym family – his wife Janet, in particular), after spending two years living and teaching in China. His spiritual odyssey began at his mother’s Baptist church, and shifted to a Unitarian Universalist congregation in Oakland, CA, after college, before he connected with the United Church of Christ in Seattle.
Bing has served in leadership positions at local, conference and national settings of the UCC for over 20 years. He and Janet live in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood with their menagerie of pets, and during their college breaks, with their kids, Alana and Morgan. His day job is running an energy efficiency consulting practice dedicated to helping homes and businesses throughout the U.S. save energy. In his spare time, he loves to bike, work out, garden and read.
