The Immigration Ministry Team invites you to participate in a free immersive courtroom drama called, The Detention Lottery, on Thursday, March 7 from 7-9:00 PM at St. Joseph's Parish Social Hall on Capitol Hill. Written by local attorney Margaret O'Donnell, this play provides a first-hand look inside a detention center courtroom. Eight audience members are detained upon entry, assigned identities as immigrants and have to defend themselves in court without preparation. The audience talk-back time with attorneys clarifies immigrant rights, the enforcement system and court proceedings. It's educational, emotional, engrossing and appropriate for junior high and older. St. Joseph's Church is located at 732 18th Ave E, Seattle 98112. Use the free parking lot in back of the church off 19th. Enter the Social Hall through the doors from the parking lot. There will be a free will offering for Casa Latina.
