A Note about Parking and Paving

March 5, 2019

The streets paths around Plymouth Church have changed, creating new challenges in how we exit the Plymouth Parking garage.  On Sundays, we have access to both the Plymouth Garage and the IBM Garage, and we encourage all who are able to use the IBM Garage so we might better accommodate our elderly, guests and handicapped with space at Plymouth.  The Seattle Department of Transportation has communicated with us that these changes will remain for at least 3 years, if not longer, unless there are significant problems.  If you have concerns, you can contact Dan Anderson at 5th6thtransit@seattle.gov.  The Department will review traffic flow, pedestrian use, our concerns and suggestions in the coming months after some time has passed to collect data.

You will now find that there is NO PARKING on Sixth Avenue in front of the Church, only the 3 minute loading zone area at the main entrance of the sanctuary and 1st floor.  On University Street, upon exiting the garage, the first two lanes are for North bound I-5 traffic.  To get to Sixth Avenue, we must cross over to the far left lane.  There’s little time and room to do this, and while this may be easier to do on Sunday mornings, it is more challenging during the work week.

As a reminder for your parking in Plymouth Garage, place your DOVE sticker on the upper corner driver side windshield. The DOVE cling stickers are available at the Welcome table on Sunday mornings or from the Church Office.  Also, please use the codes shared for Monday-Saturday daytime 7am – 4pm or after hours 4-9pm.  Sundays for worship is free as always, no need to get a parking receipt!  Sundays after 2pm, the parking receipt on your dashboard is needed to assure there will be no fine.

If you have questions or concerns, please call me at the Church Office.
