Plymouth Rocks!

April 2, 2019

The all-familiar smiley face emoji is no match to the joy I felt at YF Fundraiser Saturday evening.  Cloggers from Plymouth UCC’s Wednesday easy and intermediate level classes shared two routines: Except for Monday by Lorrie Morgan and Treasure by Bruno Mars.  Lorrie and Bruno provided the music, but the cloggers rocked the house! Coffee House that is!

I cannot thank Plymouth UCC enough for blessing me with space each Wednesday evening to embrace my passion: clog dancing.  I am honored and excited to share this form of dance with all of you.  Plymouth UCC is offering another beginner class starting 6 pm Wednesday, April 9. You can do this:

  1. All steps are cued by the instructor, so there is no need to memorize.
  2. It is great exercise and, since no partner is needed, the “exercise” level is completely up to you.
  3. Music genres range from traditional bluegrass to modern hip hop.
  4. Clog shoes are lace-up similar to tap shoes, which I have a FULL box just waiting to join the beat!

Free classes, free shoes, free parking!  What have you got to lose?  Questions? Email or call me, I would LOVE to tell you more!

The word “clog” means “time” in Gaelic. Clogging is a North American folk dance that originated in the Appalachian Mountains. Irish, Scottish, English, Dutch and Germans who settled there in the mid-1700s all played a role in shaping this great form of dance which now enjoys widespread popularity throughout the United States and around the world.
