Seattle Infant Development Center and Pre-School (SIDC), the child care center located in Plymouth that serves over 50 children, recently hired new Director Kathryn (Katy) Reed. Committed to education, especially for children from birth to age five, she also expresses her passion about social justice. Katy is excited to lead a non-profit early childhood center located within Plymouth, where social advocacy plays front and center.
“We are grateful for so much dedicated parental involvement and the tenure of our experienced teachers,” she says.
Katy, who holds a BS in Elementary Education, Spanish and Art, helped establish a Bright Horizons center, and oversaw health and educational programming of a Head Start agency. “I think teaching is one of the most important jobs,” she adds, “My initial goal is to get to know families to continue to meet the needs of our children and community.” She also looks forward to partnering with Plymouth on projects to serve our larger community. – Janice Randall
