Pitch in for Pink Prom!

May 14, 2019

Lambert House, Plymouth’s current Change Grant recipient hosts their annual Pink Prom: Sky Full of Stars, 8 pm to 12 am, Saturday, May 18, an event for LGBTQ+ youth, ages 13-22 at All Pilgrims Church, 500 Broadway E, Seattle. No drugs, alcohol or hate. $20 suggested donation.

“Our biggest need for Pink Prom is volunteers to help during “late shift” (9:45 pm-midnight) and cleanup after the dance,” says Brandon Knox, Lambert House Program Manager, “Come join the fun!

We also have some earlier shifts in which we would love your support.” Volunteer roles include:

  • Door Greeter/Line Wrangler: Welcome youth, helps ensure any line/queue is orderly, first contact to assess for obvious sings of alcohol/marijuana/other drug use (Alcohol or drug use concerns are very rare at our events, but still an issue we take very seriously).
  • Donation Taker: Ask for donations, handle cash and process card charges via Square reader on Android tablet.
  • Registration/Sign-in (two positions): Explain sign in form (on Android tablet), ensure youth fill out completely and that tablet is ready for the next youth after submission.
  • Coat check (two-three positions): Youth check in coats and bags, field requests to get into their bags frequently, while leaving them checked in, busiest towards the end of the event.

Please contact Brandon to sign up: Brandon@LambertHouse.org. “I'm happy to answer questions about specific roles as well; hope to hear from you!”
