What's our part in the current immigration system?
Join The Rev. Diakonda Gurning (pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church in Shoreline) this Sunday during the Faith Formation hour as we explore the implication of the current immigration crisis to us as a people of faith. He is one of the co-founders of the Washington New Sanctuary Movement, a faith-based community protecting the rights of all immigrants and working for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
Pastor D, as he is often known, will present an interactive workshop through his experience as an immigrant and a man of faith currently living in the Northwest. This is the first part of a series which will help us work together to make positive changes in ourselves and in the community.
Reverend Gurning earned his university degree in Indonesia, studied at Luther Seminary in St. Paul and at Seattle University. He is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California.
Please come to Hildebrand Hall on Sunday, October 13 from 11:30-1:30 for a light lunch, a complex topic, and a compelling leader.
