Congregational Conversation This Sunday

October 15, 2019

For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11, NRSV)

We have set aside the third Sundays of the months of October, November, and December for congregational conversations over lunch in Hildebrand Hall. This Sunday is our first gathering. As you may know, we have received a report and heard a presentation from Meriwether Advisors about an opportunity for redevelopment of our building and land. In order to discern whether this possibility is something we as a church desire to pursue, we need to begin talking about where we are as a church and what God is calling us to do and be in the future. The purpose of these conversations will help create a shared picture of where we are now, elicit shared aspirations, and develop shared intentions for the future.

Rev. Dr. Kelle Brown preached last Sunday about being in the middle of a Reformation as a church. This is true for us and for churches as a whole. Please come this Sunday and be part of this important process of discernment. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at jcastle@plymouthchurchseattle.org.
