We are excited to introduce the Rafn Company, Plymouth’s construction contractor for sanctuary improvement work. They are a highly capable, nimble and customer oriented company. Plymouth’s first experience with Rafn was during the complete renovation of the House of Healing. Most recently Rafn completed construction of the new Argonaut Apartments. We look forward to working with them again.
Over their 36 year history, Rafn has accomplished over 100 major renovation projects, many of which were completed in occupied buildings. Rafn knows how to be a great partner, work together to improve a space and prepare it for future use. They believe that staffing each project with the right people is critical and their people embrace that philosophy. Rafn aims for laeading an exceptional project and developing a long term relationship.
Rafn’s recent sanctuary renovation projects include Gethsemane Lutheran Church, at 9th and Stewart, where they renovated the sanctuary (as part of a larger project to increase space), added a women and children’s shelter and constructed 50 units of affordable housing. They also recently renovated the sanctuary at Bethany Presbyterian Church on Queen Anne. That project was a seismic retrofit of the sanctuary and bell tower to make them earthquake-safe, while retaining the bulding’s historic elements. Rafn says they look forward to getting acquainted with Plymouth people over the coming months and working alongside members to bring a renewed vitality to Plymouth Church sanctuary. –Connie SandstromSubscribe
