Intern Highlights

August 13, 2014

What a year it’s been as Plymouth’s intern with the UCC Justice Leadership Program (JLP)! It’s been a joy to meet many Plymouth members through involvement with groups concerned about living wage and immigration issues.

Together we raised a ‘Living Wage for All’ banner on our building, joining congregations across the city in public witnesses of our commitment to stand with workers and advocate for economic justice.

Another highlight of my year was working with the immigration group to plan a six week Plymouth U session. This class took us on a global journey to better understand roots of migration and ended with the opportunity to hear from local leaders working for a more just and compassionate immigration system.

I want to thank Plymouth as a community for walking with me on this part of my faith journey. I appreciate opportunities to see and become a part of a Christian community committed to creating spaces where all are accepted and loved, where we respond to injustices of our time. I look forward to joining Plymouth and the UCC! Thank you for blessing my year!
