Jenn Hagedorn, Plymouth Social Justice Liaison, recommends Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome: America’s Legacy of Enduring Injury and Healing. Joy DeGury Leary PhD, Professor of Social Work at Portland State University, reviews the exploited history of the African American experience. She identifies subsequent vacant esteem, ever present anger and racist socialization. She suggests resources and healing avenues including understanding the past and the power of having a supportive community and religious faith.

Drop in participants are welcome at Plymouth U Wednesday at 6 pm.
