Sunday, March 8, one 53' semi-trailer and a second trailer from C.B. Fisk in Gloucester, MA will arrive on Sixth Avenue in front of Plymouth. Trucks hold our new Opus 140 organ and more than 3000 organ pipes, from .75 in. to 32 ft. tall. At noon, everyone is invited to help unload trucks and bring the pipes into the newly renovated Sanctuary. Live music in the breezeway by Meggie Rodgers and friends will get us started and lunch will be provided for those who stay.
The organ, built by renowned organ maker CB Fisk, is modeled after the Cavaille-coll organ at St. Francoise Church in Lyon, France, “It will be the only purely authentic French Romantic organ in the Pacific Northwest,” said Douglas Cleveland, Plymouth Music Director.
After installation, the organ will go through a three to six month voicing process to be completely playable. “By fall 2015, we plan to offer many free concerts for our downtown neighbors and visitors. We are thrilled to introduce this ‘king of instruments’ to the Seattle community,” said Reverend Brigitta Remole.Subscribe
