Church-wide Discussions Begin: Why 6th and University?

April 7, 2015

How do we define our faith? When you describe your connection to Plymouth, how do you frame it? Understanding and defining our theology is the objective for this gathering.

Congregational Council launches church-wide discussions with a luncheon after the 11 am service, Sunday, April 19. The setting gives us the opportunity for small group discussions after we hear from Senior Minister, Brigitta Remole. Please join us for a simple meal provided by FareStart; suggested donation is $12 (RSVP to the church office). The same presentation takes place at 3 pm, Thursday, April 16, in the Horizon House Sky Lounge, with dessert and coffee. If unable to attend Sunday, April 19, please feel free to join the Horizon House April 16 discussion.

From the Leadership Retreat held March 12, church leaders decided this question is the number one topic to address. Focusing on the question, we will be better equipped to address our service to others (mission) and how to best use our resources (endowment). Sunday, May 17, the Community Service and Social Action Board will lead a discussion on mission. Sunday, June 14, the Investment Committee and Council will lead a conversation on financial resources, with the endowment as the center of that discussion. —Jon Palmason, Moderator
