Council Corner: Covenant to be Introduced

November 8, 2016

The covenant we wrote together last month is now ready for review. Council holds a Town Hall this Sunday after 11 am service, in Hildebrand Hall, with a light lunch. Rev. Jan Van Pelt led a workshop for members last month to help us write a covenant. Thanks to Judy and Al Bentley, who drafted a document for our review.

Our objective is to spend time with this document and provide opportunities for discussion. If you are unable to attend this Sunday, another opportunity is available after 11 am service, Sunday, December 4. For both events, a light lunch will be served. We plan to have the document ready to affirm in early January, 2017. Sunday’s Town Hall format encourages all of Plymouth to attend and ask questions of the Council.  Transparency is a constant goal and one we take seriously.

Budget planning is upon us and Council’s Budget Committee is building the 2017 budget. Please attend Faith & Life at 10 am, Sunday, November 20, when the committee introduces next year’s budget.

Plymouth is alive and well. Attendance last Sunday was the highest it has been in recent years. Visitors are walking through our doors and both services are vibrant and alive. Any issues we are currently dealing with, or questions you may have for Council, please know this is where you can find answers! I hope to see you next Sunday! Blessings to you. —Jon Palmason, Moderator
