Council Corner

November 29, 2016

What a busy time at Plymouth! As we enter the season of Advent, we also conclude our Stewardship Campaign (please keep those pledges coming!), continue covenant conversations and prepare for February’s Annual Meeting.

This Sunday, Dec. 4, after 11 am service, all are invited to attend a Council Town Hall in Hildebrand. The primary focus will be the 2017 budget. Council’s budget committee, led by Dan Landes, introduced the budget at November 21 Faith & Life; continue the conversation and discuss next year’s expenses.

The budget allows us to prioritize and focus our efforts in ministry. We can adjust and make decisions about expenses and how we express our faith through generosity. We may also choose to use resources in our care to fund proposed new initiatives and consider additional draws from the endowment as needed. We all want to use our funds wisely and spend responsibly. We also desire the flexibility to invest in ministry that continues to make Plymouth Church UCC a place of vibrant ministry today and in our future.

These important topics about the life of our church require your participation. Please plan to attend this important meeting. Light lunch will be served. –Jon Palmason, Moderator
