Earth Spirit, Earth Justice Art Exhibition

January 10, 2017

January worship theme Earth Spirit, Earth Justice focuses on God’s transformational gifts of nature and our connections. As stewards of creation, our call is to protect the planet and strive for justice. This Sunday’s focus is Earth. Flute player Gary Stroutsos offers special music at the 9 am service this week.

Through January, the Earth Spirit, Earth Justice art exhibition hangs in Hildebrand Hall for all to enjoy. Take a few extra moments, read the artist’s statements and be inspired! Plymouth member Bob Turner shares color photography from near to far. Plymouth custodian Rogie Eclipse share photographs he took in his home of central Philippines after Super Typhoon Haiyan. Tlingit artist, master carver and environmental advocate Odin Lonning shares two traditional Native works. Vashon artist and designer Sy Novak shares a mixed-media piece. A portion of proceeds benefit the upcoming Youth Mission Trip.

Thank you for supporting art in tandem with worship at Plymouth! –Janice Randall
