Why and when did you move to the Seattle area? We moved to Seattle in 2010 to be close to our oldest daughter, Sarah.
Please share a bit about your educational background. Kay grew up in Maine and received her RN from Johns Hopkins and a BS in Supervision and Management with a minor in Medical Sociology from Gwynedd Mercy University with a post grad certification in Gerontology. Jim grew up on the eastern shore of Maryland and graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
How and where did you meet? We met each other through attending a church university group while we were in school in Baltimore.
What are your current and/or past careers? We are both retired. Kay volunteers by visiting residents of Skylines Terrace’s building with our dog, Fun Fun. She also supports Plymouth Housing in various ways. Jim is currently president of our Residents Association at Skyline. His biggest commitment is as President of WACCA, the Washington Continuing Care Residents Association.
What inspires you? We are both inspired by doing for others.
What is your passion? Kay’s passion is family and participating in various projects within Skyline and our neighborhood. Jim’s passion is overseeing the development WACCRA, which focuses on obtaining legal protections for WA State residents living in Continuing Care Retirement Communities.
Why Plymouth? We were drawn to Plymouth by Kelle’s meaningful preaching and the wonderful music!
