Give up Apathy for Lent this Year!

February 20, 2017

How are we called to live into our Christian faith in these trying times? I have heard this question asked many times in various ways over the past several weeks. One response may be to participate in a neighborhood small group during Lent to explore the book A World Worth Saving: Lenten Spiritual Practices for Action by George Donigian.

For anyone who dismisses Lent as a seemingly endless time of self-sacrifice and introspection, this study offers a breath of fresh air. It connects prayer and other inner spiritual practices with outward actions of mercy and compassion. A World Worth Saving also includes exercises for spiritual growth and opportunities for reflection. Books are available for $15 Sunday mornings, and groups will meet approximately three times during Lent. If you are interested in participating in a group and/or hosting a group at your home, please email Jennifer Castle:
