New in School

March 21, 2017

In February, K-5 read stories and did projects focused around Black History Month. One of the books the kids read was Jacob Lawrence’s story of Harriet Tubman. The kids learned more about her life and work and got to see Lawrence’s incredible art on the pages.

In response, K-5 had a chance to make their own version of torn paper art that looks similar to Jacob Lawrence’s work.

The art came out so beautifully!
